Demoralized.

That would be the word of the day. One of my worst riding days ever. Worse than my little flesh-skid even. I was passed by an old woman with a walker on a climb. She told me to go find my man-pants and stop riding like a sissy. Then she left me in the dust.
At one point on the ride home, I found myself slowly grinding to a halt on a short climb despite standing on the pedals. I looked at my legs and asked out-loud “Legs! WTF is wrong with you??”.

Goal Achieved

Must have been something in the water or I finally found my man-pants. Broke the elusive 30-minute mark on the ride home. Beat this morning’s ride – which was a new benchmark – by over 1:30!
Now – can I repeat it and beat it?

The Long Way Home

From home to Memorial, along the river to Prince’s Island park, down the other side of the river, uuuuup to Wildwood, down to Edworthy, then Bowness, up Home Road to Varsity, over Crowchild to Dalhousie, to Brentwood, along John Laurie over 14th, into North Haven, up to 14th, up to Beddington, into Nose Creek Parkway and back home on the Trans Canada Trail.
54km. Long way from the 4km in May that almost killed me.
