In all fairness I didn't bother looking at the side-effects of greater oxygen density or greater cooling. My senses say there is wind, therefore I must be working harder :-) I'm thinking I might try some glucosamine and Udo's oil for a while - see if there's some positive developments. They don't always bother me but when they wake me up in the middle of the night I start to get concerned about them - I kinda need them and would rather they didn't keep me up at night.

I have also been noticing some slight discomfort in my knees. But I chalked that up to a little too much biking. I realized on Friday that I had ridden my bike 9 days straight. I decided to take this weekend off fully from biking, and I have to say that this mornings ride in to work I had no discomfort. Well that is not entirely true, my face was cold, and my eyes were cold because their nice clear riding glasses were resting comfortably, forgotten on the table near my front door, dang-it!

I am glad to hear that you are leaning towards the dark side of the Lycra biking shorts, they definitely feel so much better than anything else.

I wonder how much of the "denser air increase work" factor is counter balanced by the "I'm not overheating so I can work a little harder" factor?
